We finally made it to Johannesburg, South Africa. Our luggage, however, did not make it. Only one of the three bags that we checked made it here. The other two got lost in the shuffle of changing our flights (see previous post). One of the bags should arrive tomorrow morning, but we're not sure about the third one because it was still in Los Angeles when we arrived in Johannesburg. The only bag that arrived is the one that is full of gifts for our hosts in Botswana, which means that at the moment neither one of us has any clean clothes to change into.
Our hostel, the Ball N Kicka, is a very cool place. It reminds both of us of a summer camp or college dormitory. The employees and guests here are very friendly. We already made friends with Alvardo from Columbia, who is traveling alone on a Sports Business Conference. He is also lucky enough to be attending the Championship World Cup Game tomorrow night. There are many other people here from all around the world, and we are looking forward to getting to know some of the other guests and hopefully partying with them during our stay.
Our plan for the rest of the day is to explore the neighborhood and shop for some warm clothes since most of our jackets and sweatshirts were packed in the misplaced luggage. We get free internet in the hostel, so we'll be sure to post another update soon!

So glad to hear you made it. Now you will just have to purchase a bunch of clothes in Africa. At least you still have all the gifts! Can't wait to hear more.
